Survey Results

Online surveys were conducted with school nurses, parents, school board members, superintendents and pupil services directors.  Surveys were conducted using SurveyMonkey, an online survey tool.  Surveys were specific to each audience, though a number of the same questions were included in all or some of the surveys.  The announcement of the survey was completed through e-newsletters and/or direct email from a number of professional associations and organizations.  The surveys were open a minimum of 2 weeks.  The project partners would like to gratefully acknowledge the survey distribution assistance provided by the Wisconsin Parent Teacher Association, Wisconsin Association of School Nurses, Wisconsin Association of School Boards, Family Voices, and the Department of Public Instruction.

Below are multiple options for viewing the results. The first document, Summary of All Results in Charts, provides all of the results. For the individual respondent group results, the PDF is the easier way to view results, however, the PDF does not include the text responses for any “other” responses.

  • Summary of All Results in Charts PDF

Focus Group Results

Two focus groups were conducted.  The first focus group was conducted with school nurses attending the Wisconsin Association of School Nurses (WASN) conference in Waukesha, WI, on April 23, 2008.  Eleven nurses participated in this group.  The second was conducted with health officers attending the Western Region Wisconsin Association of Local Health Departments and Boards (WALHDAB) meeting in Eau Claire, WI on May 2, 2008.  Thirteen health officials participated in this group.  Both focus groups were intended to expand on and enhance the findings of a survey of school nurses in Wisconsin.  Below are the results of each group, as well as a summary (includes results of both).
